The NSW Business Chamber, the state’s peak business organisation, says the Small Business Export Loan announced today by the Federal Government will help many small business owners make their export dreams a reality.
“The Small Business Export Loan will enable more small businesses to access capital when their bank is unable to assist, and it is particularly good news for smaller, first-time exporters that EFIC will be focusing on the ability of the applicant to service the loan, rather than the level of security available.
“This is just one of a number of recent Federal Government initiatives designed to boost access to export finance for Australian SMEs.
“With support for exporters also available through programs like the Chamber’s own Export Growth China initiative, now is the time for Australian small businesses to take advantage of the opportunities afforded by the recent signing of free trade agreements with China, Japan and South Korea,” Mr Cartwright said.
NSW Business Chamber recently launched Export Growth China, a ground-breaking new initiative which helps Australian SMEs overcome the cultural, cost and risk hurdles involved in exporting to China for the first time.
“We have a purpose-built showroom in the heart of Shanghai’s international trade district, where our very experienced team provides real-time feedback on potential sales leads, and matches Australian SMEs with potential Chinese buyers and business partners.
“I have been travelling to China regularly, and the demand for Australian products and services is certainly very strong.
“In just a few months, our Export Growth China program has already helped numerous Australian businesses secure multi-million dollar trade deals,” Mr Cartwright said.
